DIGGS Validator
Upload a DIGGS XML file and get back a report of every schema, codelist and Schematron rule it breaks — and where. Runs on the current DIGGS 3.0 schema. Free, no account.
Files go straight from your browser to the Geosetta DIGGS API over HTTPS and are not stored. Max 25 MB.
What it checks
- XML structure against the DIGGS 3.0 XSD schema (element names, order, types, required fields).
- Codelist values: every coded property must use a term from the published DIGGS codelists.
- Schematron rules: the cross-element business rules the schema alone cannot express, such as depths that must increase or references that must resolve.
Why validate
- Software vendors use it to prove exports are conformant before shipping.
- Owners receiving DIGGS deliverables use it as an acceptance check.
- Geosetta runs every file it publishes through the same rules; the DIGGS exports on the map validate clean.
Also available
- The same validator as an API: POST a file to /api/diggs/validate for JSON or /api/diggs/validate/html for this report.
- The DIGGS Interoperability Certification program on diggs.geosetta.org, for vendors who want a public certificate.
